President Stephenson is pleased to announce that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers is offering a series of virtual events and Zoom webinars to engage IBEW women as activists and leaders. The virtual events will take place from Friday, October 9, 2020 through Saturday, October 24, 2020.
Mission nurses voted more than 2 to 1 for the National Nurse's Union, NNU, to represent them at Mission Hospital!! There were 965 yes votes, 411 no votes, and 100 challenged ballots. Once the NLRB certifies the election the hospital will be required to negotiate in good faith with the union. The NNU says it's the biggest union victory at a hospital in the American South since 1975.

Brother and Sisters, Following the guidance of the International Office and continuing to always put the safety of the staff, our members, and their families ahead of all else, President Moore and the Executive Board have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the General Membership Meeting for the month of September.
Brothers and Sisters, the following list of candidates has been endorsed by the Western North Carolina Central Labor Council and the North Carolina AFL-CIO. Most of these candidates filled out a survey and were personally interviewed by union members. In the beginning those interviews were face to face and later on they transitioned to Zoom meetings.
